You will need to complete a WR-02 form and submit it along with the appropriate fee to the Office of the State Engineer. After you receive a letter of registration back from their office, take the letter to the Santa Cruz Irrigation District Office and register with them, as well as, informing the Acequia officer about your registration. Go to the Water Rights page to download the form.

Article 6, Section 8 of the Acequia de Santa Cruz bylaws addresses Change of Ownership. Any changes in property ownership of parcels with water rights should be reported promptly to the Secretary. Communication by email is acceptable by addressing the email to:

Complete a WR-02 form and submit it along with the appropriate fee to the Office of the State Engineer. Upon receipt ot the letter of registration from their office, follow up with the Santa Cruz Irrigation District Office and an Acequia Commission Official to have account information updated with the new owner data.

Article 6, Section 2 of the Acequia de Santa Cruz bylaws addresses Assessments. Any property with associated water rights accrues assessments based on the water rights allocation for the parcel(s) and these assessments shall be paid regardless of whether the land is currently irrigated.

Please see Article 5, Section 2 of the Acequia de Santa Cruz bylaws. Parciantes on laterals shall be responsible for cleaning their own laterals. The parciantes being served by a lateral from a head-gate should work together in an equitable fashion to resolve any issues regarding the proper function of the lateral's course-way.
